Adipose Tissue Metabolic Imaging Services
Services Overview
CD BioSciences provides adipose tissue metabolic imaging services using animal models and Micro-CT imaging to facilitate in-depth studies of diabetes, obesity, and other metabolic diseases related to fat metabolism. We can quantitatively differentiate and measure various fat components and their respective volumes, provide body fat percent analysis, fatty liver measurement, and brown fat detection analysis services. In addition, we can help researchers study the role of adipose tissue neurons in the regulation of fat metabolism.

Adipose Tissue Metabolic Imaging Services
Adipose tissue metabolic Micro-CT imaging analysis services
CD BioSciences provides adipose tissue metabolic imaging services to help researchers study diabetes, obesity and other metabolic diseases related to fat metabolism in depth. We utilize Micro-CT technology to image live experimental animals with prolonged scanning without the use of contrast media. Through software analysis and measurements, we are able to quantitatively differentiate and measure different fat components such as subcutaneous fat, visceral fat and brown fat and their contents. Following are the adipose tissue quantification parameters that we commonly analysis
➢ Visceral adipose volume (VAT/mm³)
➢ Subcutaneous adipose volume (SAT/mm³)
➢ Total adipose volume (TAT/mm³)
➢ Body fat percentage (%)
Body fat percentage and fatty liver measurement
CD BioSciences can help clients automatically identify fat and muscle, providing quantitative information on muscle mass, fat mass and mean CT values. In addition, by comparing the CT values of spleen (muscle), visceral fat, and liver, it can help clients get the CT values of different degrees of fatty liver and the fat percentage in the liver.
Visceral and subcutaneous fat measurement
Our imaging technology can recognize subcutaneous fat, visceral fat and muscle, and provide the mean CT value of visceral fat mass, subcutaneous fat mass, and measurement of fat percentage.
Brown adipose tissue detection
We have a standardized protocol for brown adipose tissue measurement that allows us to measure the distribution and quantify the volume of brown adipose tissue in the body, which is a safer method than using isotopes.

Imaging analysis of adipose tissue neurons to regulate adipose metabolism
Neurons in adipose tissue have the ability to trigger the breakdown and burning of adipose molecules and are sensitive to the leptin hormone released from adipocytes. CD BioSciences can help clients to study the mechanisms by which neurons in adipose tissue regulate lipolysis and reveal their potential in obesity treatment.
➢ Through our imaging technology, it is possible to visualize neurons in adipose tissue and track the effects of leptin on them.
➢ Use mouse animal models to explore the effects of nerve fiber networks in adipose tissue on fat metabolism.
