Bacterial Count Based on Image
Microbiological analysis usually depends on the accurate count of colony forming units (CFU). Colony counting generally spreads an equal amount of fully diluted liquid culture on a culture plate and cultivates it. After the selected microorganisms are incubated under appropriate conditions, the colonies are counted to determine the number of CFU. This process is based on the assumption that each colony is produced from a single bacterium and is completed by manually counting colonies.

Bacterial Count Based on Image
Although manual counting is still the gold standard for colony counting, the process is time-consuming and prone to errors. Therefore, it is necessary to develop an image-based automatic colony counting method. CD BioSciences has been committed to the development of imaging technology for many years. We can provide you with a method for detecting and automatically calculating colonies based on processed images, which not only shows good performance in the accuracy of colony counting, but also shortens the time of colony counting.
The Workflow of Bacterial Count Based on Image
The following are the specific steps of bacterial count based on image:
Collection of microbiological samples
Step 1Sample preparation and dilution
Step 2Bacterial culture
Step 3Imaging and counting
Step 4Delivery
High resolution images of colonies
Total number of colonies
Linear regression analysis between automatic colony count and gold standard
