Imaging in Disease Models

Imaging in Disease Models

Through MRI, PET, CT scans and other advanced imaging technologies, CD BioSciences can visualize structural and functional changes at the tissue level and provide real-time views of cellular-level changes, such as shifting metabolism or cellular interactions. Our integrated imaging platform can provide a complete understanding of disease mechanisms, test drug efficacy, and promote new diagnostics and therapies.

Roles of Imaging Technology in Preclinical Disease Model Research

Imaging technologies play a crucial role in preclinical disease model research, allowing researchers to monitor anatomical changes, physiological processes, and molecular events in living organisms over time. For example, techniques like magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computed tomography (CT) can be used to assess tumor growth and metastasis, while positron emission tomography (PET) and single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) can track the distribution and efficacy of therapeutic agents. Optical imaging methods, such as bioluminescence and fluorescence imaging, enable the visualization of cellular and molecular processes at high resolution.

Disease Modeling and Imaging Services

Disease Modeling Imaging Services
Acute Injury Models We offer high-resolution imaging to assess the immediate and short-term effects of injury. This includes techniques such as fluorescence microscopy to visualize cellular damage and inflammation, and optical coherence tomography (OCT) for high-resolution imaging of tissue microstructure.
Chronic Disease Models Longitudinal studies of chronic disease progression are supported by non-invasive imaging modalities such as bioluminescence imaging (BLI) and fluorescence molecular tomography (FMT) to monitor disease development and treatment response over time. MRI and CT scanning can also be used for anatomical assessments.
Tumor Models We provide a range of imaging services for tumor models, including BLI and FMT for monitoring tumor growth and metastasis, micro-CT for high-resolution anatomical imaging, and fluorescence microscopy for detailed cellular analysis of the tumor microenvironment.
Ophthalmic Disease Models High-resolution imaging of the eye is crucial. We utilize OCT for detailed visualization of retinal structure and function, and confocal microscopy for cellular-level analysis of retinal changes.
Dermatology Models Our imaging services for skin disease models include confocal microscopy for high-resolution imaging of skin layers and cellular changes, and multiphoton microscopy for visualizing deeper tissue structures and cellular interactions.
Infectious Disease Model We utilize BLI and FMT to monitor infection progression and spread in vivo, while fluorescence microscopy allows for detailed visualization of bacterial colonization and immune cell responses.
Cardiovascular Disease Models Our services include echocardiography for functional assessment of the heart, micro-CT for high-resolution anatomical imaging of blood vessels, and fluorescence microscopy for cellular-level analysis of vascular changes.
CNS Disease Models At CD Biosicences, our research team employs cutting-edge imaging techniques, including two-photon microscopy for visualising neuronal activity and structure in brain tissue and MRI for assessing brain morphology and function in vivo.
